Testosterone:

  1. Testosterone is produced by interstitial cells (Leydig cells) of testes.
  2. The Leydig cells is located in the interstitial compartment of the testis.
  3. LH(Luteinizing hormone) stimulates testosterone production.
  4. Gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) regulates the secretion of LH.
  5. GnRH is released by the hypothalamus.
  6. The main function of testosterone is development of male reproductive tissues such as testes and also promoting development of secondary sexual characteristics.
