Clement Attlee, the new British Prime Minister declared in the House of Commons on February 19, 1946, that a Cabinet Mission would sent India to facilitate the process of transfer of power. The Mission's aim would also be to help the Indians leaders decide the form of government that would suit them after the transfer of power.
