Afzal Khan and Shivaji Maharaj held a meeting on 10th November 1659 at Pratapgad near Wai. During this meeting, Afzal Khan attempted treachery and as retaliation to this Shivaji Maharaj killed Afzal Khan. The Adilshahi army was defeated and all the soldiers who were made to join the army of Shivaji were treated well and wounded soldiers were paid compensation.
