When we eat food, the sugar component of it attracts bacteria. The bacteria start producing enzymes to digest that sugar and in turn leave behind acid and waste products which remain on our teeth as a layer called plaque. The plaque gives yellowish colour to our teeth and it eventually leads to tooth decay.
