Question

When we are under swimming pool and tried to clap our hands under the water it requires a lot of force. Why is it so?

Solution

It is beacuse when we clap normally there is air between our hands which is a gas so resistance to our hand's motion is very less.

On the other hand if we clap in a swimming pool there is water between our hands so the resistance increases and hence it requires a greater amount of force
