The correct option is B 46
Given the mean of 8 numbers = 40

Hence the total of 8 numbers = 40 x 8 = 320

Given the mean of remaining (20 - 8 = 12) numbers = 50

Total of 12 numbers = 50 x 12 = 600

Total of 20 observation = 600 + 320 = 920

Hence the mean of 20 observation
$= \frac{920}{20} = 46$
