Solution

The correct option is C

Blood group is designated on the basis of the presence of antibodies in the blood plasma

Blood Group is decided by the Antigen that is present on the RBCs. Plasma has antibodies to the antigens which are not present on RBCs. Thus, a person having blood group O has no antigens on RBCs and plasma has antibodies against both of these. A person having blood group B has antibodies against antigen A and therefore cannot give blood to a person with A blood group. A person with AB blood group has both antigens on RBCs and no antibodies in plasma and hence can accept blood from any other group. Thus AB type becomes universal acceptor.
