(a) When a carbon containing the principal functional group is directly on a ring, normal suffix (-oate) cannot be used. In this case, the carboxylate suffiix should have been used and th correct IUPAC name would be "methyl cyclohexane carboxylate".
(d) When there are two carbon containing principle functional groups (nowCOOH), their carbon atoms become terminals of the parent chain irrespective of the chain length. The correct name of this compound would be 2-butyl-4-ethylpentane-doic acid.
