Magnets can attract other magnets and magnetic materials. Magnetic materials are mostly composed of elements like iron, cobalt, nickel or a mixture of them. So iron dust, magnet, cobalt coin all are attracted by a magnet. Plastic is a non-magnetic material. So a plastic bag is not attracted by a magnet.
