  • In a closed-loop traverse for no error, the following two conditions should be satisfied :
  1. The algebraic sum of all the latitudes should be equal to zero. L=L1+L2+....=0 In other words, the arithmetic sum of northing should be equal to the arithmetic sum of southing.
  2. The algebraic sum of all the departures should be equal to zero. D=D1+D2+....=0 In other words, the arithmetic sum of eastings should be equal to the arithmetic sum of westings.
