Jabar Khan resisted the Sikhs attack in Samadhan, but it was futile. The Sikh army managed to occupy the forts of Shri Nagar, Shergarh, and Azimgarh. Kashmir was annexed, and Diwan Moti Ram was appointed as the Subedar of Kashmir.
