Plant species are collected for various purposes such as wood, medicine, dyes, research, extraction of oils etc. Uncontrolled and overexploitation of these plant species may result in extinction. Another reason for the extinction of plant species is, some plants are unique to particular areas (endemic species). when forest fires occur in these areas it leads to extinction of those particular plant species.
