Subhash Chandra Bose raised the Azad Hind Fauz or the Indian National Army which constituted of both Japanese and Indian Soldiers. However with the outbreak of the second world war more than half the soldiers had to return fight the war since Japan was involved in it. The remaining army tried to invade India through Imphal and Kohima but failed.
