Question

Why is rayon not considered a fully synthetic fibre?

Open in App
Solution

Rayon is neither a fully synthetic fibre nor a fully natural fibre. It is considered as a semi-synthetic fibre because it is made by chemical treatment of wood pulp. Although
rayon is obtained from a natural source, wood pulp, yet it is a man-made fibre because it is processed chemically.
