RuBisCO catalyses the first step In conversion of carbon dioxide into sugar during Calvin Cycle. This enzyme is present in all the photosynthetic organisms of the world. Right from the cyanobacteria to the leaves of huge trees; RuBisCO is literally present everywhere. It can be said that all the carbon in biosphere is derived from carbon fixation carried out by RuBisCO. Hence, this is the most abundant enzyme in the world.
