Why is temperature always specified while stating the solubility of a solute?

Open in App
Solution

Solubility: Solubility is defined as the maximum amount of solute dissolved in a solution at a particular temperature.

Why temperature is specified while stating solubility:

  • Because for a given temperature there is a specific amount of solute that can be dissolved in a specific amount of solvent.
  • When we increase the temperature then the solubility of solute increases, and vice-versa.
  • Thus temperature is always specified while stating the solubility of a solute.
