After the Dar Commission rejected the proposal of formation of linguistic provinces, people all over the country revolted. Hence, to re-evaluate the matter, the then Congress government appointed a new committee under Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Vallabhbhai Patel and Pattabhisitaramayya called the JVP Committee.
