Solution

The term equality describes the condition of being the same, concerning status, rights or opportunities. The Constitution of India acknowledges that everyone is equal. It means that each individual who belongs to any caste, religion, race, economic or educational history in the nation is equal.

Provisions in the Constitution

Regarding equality, the Constitution specifies as follows:

  • Every individual has right from the president to an everyday wager must obey the same rule.
  • No caste discrimination based on age, religion, gender, ethnicity, place of birth.
  • Fair access to public space that is everyone has equal access to public areas and facilities such as playgrounds, stores, markets, roads, wells and so on.

In India, there are several laws which protect the right of each person to be treated equally. Most of these schemes and programmes are supporting underprivileged sections of communities. These provide more significant incentives for development and growth for the historically marginalised segments of society.
