The thread-like structures that develop on the decaying bread are the hyphae of commonly known as bread mould. These hyphae have tiny blob-on-a-stick like structures known as sporangia which contain numerous spores. Each spore can develop into new rhizopus individual.This type of reproduction is known as asexual reproduction.These spores are covered by thick walls that protect them until they come into contact with another nutrient filled moist surface and can begin to grow.
