Heart beat and pulse - The pulse rate is exactly equal to the heartbeat, as the contractions of the heart cause the increases in blood pressure in the arteries that lead to a noticeable pulse. Taking the pulse is, therefore, a direct measure of heart rate.
Hypertension - A condition in which the force of the blood against the artery walls is too high.
Coronary artery disease - Damage or disease in the vessel that supplies oxygen to the heart musclesvessels.
Angina Pectoris - A type of chest pain caused by reduced blood flow to the heart.
Heart failure - A chronic condition in which the heart doesn't pump blood as well as it should.
