Write the fractions for each of the following :

(i) 7 hundreds + 4 tens + 3 ones + 4 hundredths + 7 thousandths.

(ii) 4 thousands + 7 hundreds + 7 tens + 9 ones + 1 tenths.

(i) 7 hundreds + 4 tens + 3 ones + 4 hundredths + 7 thousandths. = 7 x 100 + 4 x 10 + 3 x 1 + 4 x $\frac{1}{100}$ + 7 x $\frac{1}{1000}$ = 743 + $\frac{47}{1000}$ = $=\frac{743000}{1000}+\frac{47}{1000}=\frac{743047}{1000}$

(ii) 4 thousands + 7 hundreds + 7 tens + 9 ones + 1 tenths. = 4 x 1000 + 7 x 100 + 7 x 10 + 9 x 1 + $\frac{1}{10}$= 4779 + $\frac{1}{10}$ = $=\frac{47790}{10}+\frac{1}{10}=\frac{47791}{10}$ ( 1 mark )
