This series can be divided into two series :

Adding even numbers in decreasing order from $10$ we get first series.

Adding consecutive numbers we get second series starting from $3$

$$\begin{gathered} 4+3=7 \\ 7+4=11 \end{gathered}$$

So, the next term would be $11+5=16$
