A ball is thrown vertically upward with a velocity of 60 m/s. The maximum height to which ball rises is

u = 60 m/s, v = 0. The value of acceleration due to gravity is g = 9.8 m/s2

From equation, 2aS = v2 – u2

We have a = g.

S = v2 – u2 / 2a

   = 0 – (60)2  /  2* 9.8

    = 183.7 m
