A compound has the molecular formula X4O6, if 10 G of X4O6 has 5.72 G Of X, then find the atomic mass of X?

The molecular weight of the compound

X4O6

Step 2: Deriving expression

Expressing the above formula = 4×X+6×16

= 4X+96

Since (4X+96)gm of X4O6 contains X=4agm

Therefore, 10gmof X4O6 will contain,

X=4a×104a+96

Step 3: Calculation of atomic mass

Putting suitable values in the above formula and calculating, we get

5.72=4a×104a+9622.88a+549.12=4a17.12a=549.12a=32.07amu

Therefore, the atomic mass of X is 32.07amu.
