So, let us assume the total number of article = x

The coat of an article = 2x + 3

Total cost of production = Number of produced * cost of an article

90 = x (2x + 3)

x = (2x + 3) = 90

x(2x) + (3x) = 90

202 + 3x = 90

2×2 + 3x – 90 = 0

Now by applying middle term method:

2×2 + 15x – 12x – 90 = 0

x(2x + 15) – 6 (2x + 15) = 0

(x -6) (2x + 15) = 0

x – 6 = 0 2x + 15 = 0

x = 6 2x=-15

x = -15/2

Therefore, x = 6 and x = -15/2

As x cannot be the negative number of articles, hence x = 6.

The total number of articles- x = 6

The cost of article

= 2x +3

= 2(6) + 3

= 12 + 3

= 15

Therefore, the cost of article is Rs 15.
