A coulomb is same as __________.

Open in App
Solution

  1. Charge is the inherent property of electrons and protons which causes the force of attraction and repulsion between them.
  2. The SI unit of charge is “coulomb.
  3. The flow of charge (Q) per unit time (t) is called electric current (I).
  4. I=Qt
  5. Q=I×t ……………..(a)
  6. The SI unit of current is “Ampere” and the SI unit of time is “second".
  7. Assuming the values of charge, current and time as "unity" and substituting the units of charge, current and time in equation (a), we get 1coulomb=1ampere×1second

Hence, a coulomb is the same as an ampere-second.
