A gardener wants to fence a circular garden of diameter 21m. Find the length of the rope he needs to purchase, if he makes 2 rounds of fence. Also find the cost of the rope, if it costs ₹ 4 per meter. (Take π = 22/7)

From the given details we get to know that

Diameter of the circular garden = 21 m

Find out

We have to determine the length of the rope and the cost of the rope, if it costs ₹ 4 per meter

Solution

We know that,

radius (r) = d/2

= 21/2

= 10.5 m

Also

Circumference of the circle = 2πr

= 2 × (22/7) × 10.5

= 462/7

= 66 m

So, the length of rope required = 2 × 66 = 132 m

Cost of 1 m rope = ₹ 4 

Cost of 132 m rope = ₹ 4 × 132

= ₹ 528

Answer

Length of rope=132m

Cost of the rope= ₹ 528
