A gas absorbs a photon of 355 nm and emits at two wavelengths. If one of the emission is at 680 nm, the other is at - i) 1035 nm ii) 325 nm iii) 743 nm iv) 518 nm?

Absorbed energy = Emitted energy

hc/λ = hc/λ1 + hc /λ2

= 1/ λ 1 + 1 /λ2

1/355 = 1/680 + 1 /λ2

λ2 = 743 nm.
