Solution

Physical change:

  1. A physical change is a type of change in which the physical properties like state of matter, temperature, shape, size, etc are changed.
  2. In a physical change, no chemical reaction occurs i.e. no chemical changes occur.
  3. The same substance is present before and after the change.
  4. They are generally reversible because in physical changes the original form of matter can be obtained as there is a change only in the physical properties. But some irreversible physical changes are also present.
  5. Examples: the making of sugar solution, crushing of paper, melting of ice, etc.
  6. Grinding of wheat grains results in a change in the size of the grain which is a physical property i.e. a physical change occurs.
  7. Also, it is an irreversible physical change as we can not obtain the grains back after grinding them

Therefore, the grinding of wheat grain changes its size. It is a physical change.
