Separation of a mixture of two immiscible liquids
A separating funnel is used for the separation of a mixture of two immiscible liquids.
These immiscible liquids separate out into layers depending on their densities. The liquid with lower density will float on the top of the liquid with higher density.
Here, the density of water is less than that of chloroform.
