Filtration is used for the separation of solid components of the mixture from the liquid. But here both the components are liquids.Milk from water is very difficult to separate. But additional water added can be removed to an extent and concentration of milk is increased by boiling. It is possible to concentrate the milk by evaporating a part of the water contained in milk. Bringing milk to a boil and allowing it to evaporate will remove water and make the milk more concentrated.
