Let x be the cost price of the pack.

Selling price of the pack =42

Profit=5%ofx=5100×x

Applying the equation, SellingpriceCostprice=Profit

42x=5100×x

42x=120×x

42=x+x20

42=20x+x20

42=21x20

x=42×2021

x=2×20=40

Hence, the Cost price of the soap pack is40
