a ray of light passes through an equilateral prism such that the angle of incidence is equal to the angle of emergence and each of these equal to 3/4th of the angle of the prism. The angle of deviation is

Solution:

Angle of incident= angle of emergence = 3/4 A, where A = angle of prism
Prism is equilateral, So = A = 60 degrees
i = e = 60 x 3/4 = 45 degrees
Angle fo deviation (Prism formula) = δ = i + e – A = 45 + 45 -60 = 30 degrees
