A rectangular field is to be fenced on three sides leaving a side of 20 m uncovered. If the area of the field is 680 m2, how many metres of fencing will be required.

The length of one side is 20 m and the area is 680 m2.

⇒ Length of another side = 680 / 20 = 34 m

The length of fencing required for the three sides = 34 + 34 + 20

= 88 m
