A rectangular sheet of paper is 12 (1 / 2) cm long and 10 (2 / 3) cm wide. Find the perimeter.

Length of the rectangle = 12 (1 / 2) cm
Breadth of the rectangle = 10 (2 / 3) cm
Perimeter of a rectangle = 2 (length + breadth)
\(=2 \times\left[\left(12+\frac{1}{2}\right)+\left(10+\frac{2}{3}\right)\right] \\ =2 \times\left[(12+10)+\left(\frac{1}{2}+\frac{2}{3}\right)\right] \\ =2 \times\left[22+\left(\frac{1 \times 3+2 \times 2}{2 \times 3}\right)\right] \\ =2 \times\left[22+\left(\frac{3+4}{6}\right)\right] \\ =2 \times\left[22+\frac{7}{6}\right] \\ =2 \times 22+2 \times \frac{7}{6} \\ =\frac{139}{3} \mathrm{~cm}\\ =46 \frac{1}{3} \mathrm{~cm}\)
