A showroom offers a 10% discount on a microwave, whose marked price is Rs. 8, 000, and also give a blender worth Rs. 1, 200 as a complimentary gift with it. Even then, the showroom earns a profit of 20%. The cost price per microwave is?

We have to find the cost price per microwave.

Market price = Rs.8000

Discount = 10%

Complimentary gift = Rs.1200

The discounted amount is

A = 10% + 8000 + 1200

A = 800 +1200 = 2000

Selling price SP = 8000-1200 = 6000

The showroom earns a profit of 20%.

CP = 100/ 100+P% x SP

= 100/100 + 20 x 6000

CP = 5000

Therefore, The cost price per microwave is Rs.5000.
