Solution

Shadow:

  1. If the screen is placed too far away from the ball, there will be no shadow on it.
  2. Because the torch's light beam falls parallel to the screen on the ball, the ball does not obstruct the entire light from the torch and no shadow is cast.
  3. The torch is kept at a safe distance from the ball.
  4. This distances the source of light.
  5. As a result, not enough light reaches the ball.
  6. Only if the ball, torch, and screen are all in the same straight line will an accurate shadow of the ball is formed.
