Animals that yield wool are Angora goats, Llama and Alpaca. Silk moth lays eggs which develop into silkworms to yield silk but not wool.Wool is obtained from the animals like sheep, goat, yak, etc. that bear hair on their body. These wool-yielding animals have hairs on their body as it helps these animals stay warm by trapping a lot of air. This is because air is a bad conductor of heat, so there is no loss of body heat. Moth or the silkworms are used for obtaining silk through the process of sericulture.
