The water in the Ramesh’s beaker will heat up in a shorter time. This is because the outermost zone of a flame is the hottest zone in which the complete combustion is taking place, while the yellow zone (in which Abida had kept the beaker) is less hot as this is the middle zone which is the zone of partial combustion so it is less hot than the outermost zone.
Zones of a flame
- The first zone is called the Outer zone
- The second zone is called the Middle zone
- The third zone is called as Inner zone
There are three zones in the candle flame in which the non – luminous zone is the zone of complete combustion, the luminous zone has limited oxygen supply and is moderately hot and the third zone is the dark zone which does not burn due to the absence of air.
