To add : $4 x^{2} y, - 3 x y^{2}, - 5 x y^{2}, 5 x^{2} y$
Answer
On combining the like terms and adding them, we get
$\begin{array}{rcl} 4 x^{2} y + (- 3 x y^{2}) + (- 5 x y^{2}) + 5 x^{2} y \\ = & 4 x^{2} y + 5 x^{2} y - 3 x y^{2} - 5 x y^{2} \\ = & x^{2} y (4 + 5) + x y^{2} (- 3 - 5) \\ = & x^{2} y (9) + x y^{2} (- 8) \\ = & 9 x^{2} y - 8 x y^{2} \end{array}$
Hence, on adding $4 x^{2} y, - 3 x y^{2}, - 5 x y^{2}, 5 x^{2} y$ , we get $9 x^{2} y - 8 x y^{2}$ .
