AIDS is a disease that can develop in people with HIV. It’s the most advanced stage of HIV. But just because a person has HIV doesn’t mean AIDS will develop. AIDS is transmitted by the exchange of body fluids. When we hug each other there cannot be an exchange of any body fluid hence AIDS cannot be transmitted by hugs.

  • HIV’s infection can be detected with the help of a test called ELISA which stands for ‘Enzyme Linked Immuno Sorbent Assay’.
  • AIDS is incurable, so far; thus, HIV prevention is the wisest option.
