Aspirin has the formula C9H8O4. How many atoms of oxygen are there in a tablet weighing 360mg?

C9H8O4 = 9 x 12 + 8 x 1 + 16 x 4 = 180

Mole = (Given weight)/Mole weight 

= (360 x 10-3)/180

= 2 x 10-3 mole

Number of oxygen atoms = 4 x 2 x 10-3 mole

= 4 x 2 x 10-3 x 6 x 1023       [Since, 1 mole = NA (6 x 1023)]

= 4.81 x 1021
