Calculate the area of a quadrilateral ABCD when the length of the diagonal AC=10cm and the lengths of perpendiculars from B and D on AC be 5cm and 6cm respectively.

Length of the diagonal (AC)=10 cm Area of quadrilateral ABCD=ar(△ABC)+ar(△ACD) =(1/2×AC×BM)+(1/2×AC×DL) =1/2×AC(BM+DL) =1/2×10(5+6) =5×11cm2 =55cm2
