% composition of compound = % of boron and % of oxygen

Therefore, % of boron = (mass of boron)/(mass of the sample compound) x 100

% of boron = 40%

Therefore, % of oxygen = (mass of oxygen) / (mass of the sample compound) x 100

% of oxygen = 60%
