Question

Can we survive only on raw leafy vegetables/grass? Discuss.

Open in App
Solution

Raw, leafy vegetables mainly consist of cellulose. Cellulase is needed for the breakdown of cellulose. Since our body does not produce cellulase, cellulose cannot be digested inside the human body.
Therefore, we can’t survive on raw leafy vegetables/grasses.
