It is located in the thylakoid membranes in the chloroplasts, organized in a photosystem in the form of an antenna complex. In addition, they are also found in the space between the thylakoid and the chloroplast membranes referred to as the stroma. The alpha and beta chlorophyll molecules, both are usually found in the primary reaction central area of the photosystem containing accessory pigments(carotenoids and xanthophyll) in their own arrangements through the photosystem.
