- The middle and upper elevations of the eastern Middle Himalayas,
- Northern Indian states including Arunachal Pradesh

The forest covers 27,500 square kilometres (10,600 sq mi) from 3,000 to 4,000 metres (9,800 to 13,100 ft) elevation.It extends it area in the region of Gandaki river.
Uses of Coniferous forest
The wood of coniferous forest is used in the following ways
- The softwood evergreen trees that grow in the coniferous forests are used for making matchbox and packing boxes.
- They are also used for making pulp, which is used to manufacture paper and newsprint.
