Copper:

1. The resistivity of copper is low. Due to it, there will not be a suitable potential drop across the ends of the potentiometer wire, so the Copper wire cannot be used as a potentiometer
2. Copper has low resistivity and a high-temperature coefficient of resistance hence we do not use it in a potentiometer.
