Define granular and block disintegration

  • The splitting of rocks along the joints into blocks is called block disintegration. It commonly occurs in those regions where there is a high difference in daily range of temperature. Example- deserts
  • A form of weathering where the grains of a rock become slackened and fall out due to repeated heating and cooling as a result of temperature changes. This kind of weathering It takes place in cold regions and places located at high altitudes.
