Define the term brisk effervescence?

Brisk effervescence is defined as the rapid or vigorous evolution of a gas in a chemical reaction. It is evidence that in the reaction carbon dioxide is liberated.

Example

When sodium bicarbonate is added to acetic acid brisk effervescence is produced. The reaction is given below:

CH3COOH + NaHCO3→ CH3COONa + CO2+ H2O
